Biography
A Quebec historian, museologist and novelist, Hervé Gagnon has established himself as one of the great voices of the French-language historical thriller. Born in La Baie, Quebec, he holds a doctorate in history and a master’s degree in museology. After more than twenty-five years devoted to university teaching and the enhancement of cultural heritage, he chose to devote himself entirely to writing.
His literary universe mixes with rare mastery:
- history,
- esotericism,
- psychological thriller,
- religious mysteries,
- occultism,
- historical investigations,
- folklore and the supernatural.
Translated into several languages, his works have won over a very large readership in Quebec and Europe. His Damné series has sold more than 200,000 copies in French.
Hervé Gagnon’s writing is distinguished by:
- extremely solid historical documentation,
- immersive and cinematic storytelling,
- deeply human characters,
- constant tension,
- a subtle balance between historical reality and fantasy.
Compared to authors such as Dan Brown, Steve Berry or Glenn Cooper, Hervé Gagnon nevertheless has a literary identity of his own, darker, more erudite and deeply rooted in history.

DEMONICA
M+ Editions – Collection Noire – Parution le 31 mai 2024
SYNOPSIS :
